Royalty

Tell us about someone who deserves some recognition

This year’s carnival will take place on Saturday 20th June and the Long Eaton Carnival Committee would like to invite you to be involved in the process of selecting our Carnival Royalty.

In previous years we have invited nominations from local schools, asking them to put forward a young person who they believe is worthy of some recognition. This proved successful and we had some wonderful nominations from very worthy candidates but this year we would like to invite the community to nominate someone they think deserves a special day.

Your nomination(s) can be for anything; academic excellence, overcoming adversity, sporting prowess, community or charity work or just generally being a truly wonderful person who you feel deserves a special day.

The role of Carnival Royalty involves being in the Grand Parade through town and being part of the celebrations on the park afterwards. The chosen royals will be provided with suitable clothing for their role and a vehicle, including their driver. They will need to be chaperoned at all times by a parent or guardian.

All nominations will be entered in to a competition and the winner will be chosen by the event sponsors. Obviously, anyone you put forward will need to agree to entering the competition and permission, including agreement to allow them into the parade and to chaperone them, will need to be sought from parents/guardians.

Please find below a button to the nomination form which we would politely ask you to complete and return as soon as possible.

(One for each nominee)
