Tell us about someone who deserves some recognition
This year’s carnival will take place on Saturday 8th June and the Long Eaton Carnival Committee would like to invite you to be involved in the process of selecting our Carnival Royalty.
As in previous years we are inviting nominations from the general public to put forward a young person who they believe is worthy of some recognition.
Your nomination(s) can be for anything; academic excellence, overcoming adversity, sporting prowess, community or charity work or just generally being a truly wonderful person who you feel deserves a special day.
The role of Carnival Royalty involves being in the Grand Parade through town and being part of the celebrations on the park afterwards. The chosen royals will be provided with suitable clothing for their role, a vehicle and driver. They will need to be chaperoned at all times by a parent or guardian.
All nominations will be presented to the event sponsors who will select the years Carnival Royalty. Obviously, anyone you put forward will need to agree to entering the competition and permission, including agreement to allow them into the parade and to chaperone them, will need to be sought from parents/guardians.
