Supporting Long Eaton Carnival
Long Eaton Carnival is a FREE to attend local community event that brings thousands of people together each year and while entry is free, much of what you see across the weekend comes at a cost.
We are often asked why we collect donations on carnival day and what the money is used for, so we want to be fully transparent; here are some of our biggest costs from 2025:

Money to run the event has to be found through a mix of fundraising and commercial activities; here’s an overview of where the money came from in 2025:

Those eagle eyed among you will recognise that we had more income than expenditure last year, however this is not always the case. For example across the two carnivals following the pandemic (2021 and 2022), we had around £4,000 more in expenditure than income.
Money is of course only part of the equation, donations in kind and volunteers giving of their time also makes a valuable contribution to the success of the event, for example:
- Maple Tree Care 100+ man hours traffic management and logistics
- Ward Recycling Waste and Recycling services
- Trinity Church Meeting facilities
- Committee members 1,500+ volunteer hours
